Amira Rogers is an African American contemporary glass mosaic artist with a life-long passion for creating art in multiple mediums. She began exploring art at a very young age joining any art program she could. Amira formerly studied art for the first time at the acclaimed Arts High School in Newark, NJ, then went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with a minor in graphic design from Seton Hall University. Her art training in traditional mediums (photography, paint, pencil and marker to name a few) did not stop her growing hungry for art. She picked up glass through GlassRoots in Newark NJ, at the age of 14 and hasn’t stopped since. She is skilled and trained in glass mosaic, kiln. forming, glassblowing and flame working — now leading mosaic classes all over. Her art is influenced by music, nature and her everyday experiences.
