Tarah Paul (b. 2001, Philadelphia, PA) is a Haitian visual archivist who uses photography to document the lived experiences of those around her. Her work explores themes of joy, resilience, authenticity, and beauty through emotionally resonant, relationship-based portraits.
Tarah is committed to capturing how people choose to present themselves to the world, honoring their realities and essence. Many of her subjects are individuals with whom she‘s built meaningful connections, allowing for intimate and honest imagery.
Rooted in an appreciation of photography as a medium for timelessness, self-expression, and reflection, her practice blends design sensibility with an intentional use of light and texture. She draws on her own experiences to explore heritage, belonging, and identity — using the camera not only as a tool of documentation, but also as a means of community building and cultural preservation.
